Glacken's Bar and Grill, a cherished establishment in the Bronx, New York, first opened its doors in 1940. Located on 149th Street, the bar was renowned for its early opening hours, accommodating workers finishing late-night shifts. Owner Thomas Glacken, who began working at the bar in the 1950s, cited rising rent costs and the relocation of nearby city facilities as key reasons for the closure.
